Project Overview

Uihlein Electric has been instrumental in developing a highly efficient outpatient surgery center for Boldt/HGA and Aurora, showcasing its expertise in building automation. This project highlights Uihlein’s ability to integrate advanced technologies that ensure optimal performance within healthcare environments.

Central to the project was the direct digital control wiring of the HVAC systems, a vital component in maintaining precise climate control throughout the facility. This sophisticated system manages the air handler units specifically designed to serve the surgical suites, providing a controlled environment essential for patient care and surgical precision.

The installation included a chilled water plant and a hot water plant, both integral to the center’s HVAC operations. These systems were expertly connected and configured to support the facility’s temperature regulation needs, enhancing energy efficiency and operational reliability. The project involved the integration of 320 Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes, each equipped with hot water reheat capabilities. These components ensure that air distribution is flexible and responsive to the demands of different areas within the center.

Additionally, the installation of exhaust fans, foil coil units, and unit heaters was carried out to support the center’s overall air quality and comfort levels. These elements work harmoniously with the building’s automation systems to deliver a seamless and efficient operation.

Uihlein Electric’s work guarantees the smooth operation of the outpatient surgery center and sets a benchmark for energy-efficient and reliable healthcare facility management.
