Uihlein Electric started in 1911 as the electrical contractor for Schlitz Brewery, a key name in Milwaukee’s brewing history. This partnership helped establish Uihlein Electric’s role in the city’s construction industry.

The Uihlein family played a prominent role in Milwaukee’s growth, especially in the area around 5th, 6th, and Galena, once known as “Uihlein Hill,” where many family homes were located. Family members like Charles Uihlein, mother of Oscar L. Uihlein, contributed to this legacy, with Oscar later leading Uihlein Electric Co.

For over 100 years, Uihlein Electric has supported Milwaukee’s growth while adapting to changing times. The company has been part of major projects, including Miller Park, Harley-Davidson, Rockwell Automation, City Hall, MSOE, UWM, and Potawatomi Hotel and Casino.

Beyond our electrical roots, Uihlein Electric has progressed to meet the diverse needs of modern businesses.
